Staying healthy as we age goes a long way to maintaining our quality of life, our ability to stay independent and doing the things we love to do. In this section you will find information on what you can do to stay active, eat well and reduce your risk of serious illness.

Eating Well:

As we age, eating well helps you to stay active, prevent disease and feel your best. Learn more on the Health Unit website about nutritional needs as we age, eating on a budge and other information to help make eating easier as we age.

Vaccination:

Staying up to date on vaccination for travel or seasonal vaccines can help reduce your risk of serious illness. Learn more on the Health Unit website about what you need. Once you are on the website, scroll down for the seasonal immunization information.

Staying Active:

Only 39% of adults 65 to 79 years take at least 7,500 steps per day. Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines can help you stay strong, mentally fit and independent.
