Bridging Generations - Meet our Team

Our Goal

Bridging Generations is a team of volunteers with diverse skills, experiences and perspectives. Together our goal is to make Pakenham a place where everyone is happy to live-especially older adults.

Our Community Partners-

Community Partners play a crucial role in supporting our initiatives and amplify our impact. With these partnerships Bridging Generations can enhance the overall health and well-being of our community.

Christine Row and Meaghan Davies  - Mississippi Mills Library - provide us with meeting space,  supports for publicity and promotion and participate in addressing  county- wide Transportation solutions

Jan Watson - Home Hospice North Lanark- provides us with appropriate training / education sessions for the community and is involved in delivering and planning appropriate home based health care.  

Danielle Shewfelt - Public Health Nurse, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark  District Health Unit - provides us with  the educational materials for this publication, access to important data about our community, and support with planning, evaluation and other work with municipal partners in the County.

Pakenham residents who are rolling up their sleeves for Bridging Generations

Doris Rankin - Collaborates with Jeff Mills and the Municipality to oversee the creation of a loop trail in Pakenham. Additionally, as an active member of the Civitan Club, she participates in various community activities, including the Christmas dinner program and Frost Festival.

Barb Van Zanten- Recently becoming a part of Bridging Generations, she contributes her expertise in home-based care and has assumed a leadership role in the project with Pakenham Public School. Her active involvement in the Health Fair is noteworthy.

Dan Kildey - Shares his expertise in Home based care systems, focusing particularly on rural communities.

Paul LArrive -The latest addition to our team will take the lead on initiatives pertaining to Village Vitality, a crucial aspect of the Municipalities' long-term planning for the next 25 years.

Carolyn Leslie - New to Pakenham, she brings her Event Planning expertise to our team. Initially brought on board for the June 1, 2023 Health Fair, she now heads the Communications team alongside Emma Moxley and Meaghan Davies. Together, they oversee the Transcript, our Facebook page, and Website.

Sherryl Smith - A founding member of Bridging Generations, she has brought her community development expertise to contribute to the prosperity of Pakenham. Since 2016, she has been overseeing the implementation of the workplan.

Former and highly valued individuals include Melissa Wittenburg, Vic Bode, and Paddye Mann.
